We will not be meeting in person this year and therefore will not be having our annual WIA breakfast presented by the Women In Arboriculture Committee. Typically this is an all-inclusive event that focus on topics and speakers related to women in arboriculture. It is a great networking event and participation helps to identify, learn, and resolve challenges women face in our industry.
This year, the session will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 10:00am. There will be a network lounge set up for the group to continue the conversation during the day.
This year’s session focuses on identifying challenges that women face as employees, as well as those that employers face when it comes to hiring women. The WIA committee is committed to starting a supportive dialogue, exploring solutions and developing resources that can be used by all members of our community to help make the tree care industry a more inclusive and equitable environment. To this end, we invite everyone’s participation and input as we strive to break down barriers and bring the tree care industry into a more inclusive and equitable future.
The session will be led by Jessika Mitchell and facilitated by Julia Gowin and members of the WIA committee.
In addition to the session, WIA will have a dedicated network lounge to reflect and exchange on what we have shared and learned during the session. This session will be during the morning break following the session.
