One Woman’s Story: Navigating the changing tides

Maureen Murphy has had a career filled with ups and downs, ins and outs, good times and… well, let’s just say she’s had many oppotunites for growth. Come laugh with me as I share my journey. After all, we are all in this together, and together we thrive! Come hear her story!

Maureen Murphy has been in the landscaping and arboriculture fields for over 40 years.  She received a dual degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in Ornamental Horticulture and Pomology (fruit science),  and then moved to Hawaii to begin a career in landscaping.  She left the islands for two years to earn a Master of Science degree through the Longwood Graduate Program in Pennsylvania. That was enough. Back to Hawaii where she started Horticultural Consultants International, became a Certified Arborist, a landscape contractor, a Registered Consulting Arborist, and a qualified Tree Risk Assessor.  She currently had a 4-person crew who focus on tree pruning, landscape beautification projects, and keeping each other entertained.
