Inspiring the Youth – Ensuring Future Leadership for Our Urban Forest

Thursday May 5th, 11:15am, General Session

A lecture focusing on developing our youth outreach methods and strategizing how we can inspire a younger audience to get more involved in the urban forest. While this industry is comprised of thousands of knowledgeable, respected individuals, all this knowledge will be for naught if there is no one to convey it to future generations. Inspiring a younger audience is vital in the development of innovative ideas and the continued growth of our industry.

Daniel Mahoney has been involved in the tree industry all his life. His uncle started West Coast Arborists, Inc. in the 70’s and employed his father when Danny was still young. Growing up, Danny worked in the company’s nursery and took on a more active role working out of the WCA’s San Diego branch as he got older. After graduating from CSU San Marcos with a degree in Communication, he became a Certified Arborist and began to study more about the green industry.
