Art in the Urban Forest

Over 20 years at Chicago Park District, the speaker worked within the public domain of the Chicago Park District to increasingly bring attention to the parks 200,000 trees. The intent was to bring things (trees) expected and not noticed within the landscape to the forefront of people’s minds across the city of 3 million. By using trees as a framework for the creation of art marking the presenter was able to cause questioning around such topics as the value of trees. The difference a weak tree and a high quality tree the ecosystem system trees provide. The architectural splendor of trees and, fully understand the value of our urban forest.
